Start a project
Choose + or New Project, give it a name and select its original start date. A project can begin today or on an earlier date. Add an icon and optional notes, then save.
Pause and resume
Open the project, choose Pause and confirm. You can record an optional resume date. Resume when you are ready. The total elapsed duration always includes pauses; active and paused totals classify calendar days rather than hours worked.
Finish a chapter
Choose Finalise in the project detail and confirm. The project moves to Finalised, where its duration freezes and its history remains available. Reopen it to continue from the original start date. Permanent deletion is a separate confirmed action.
Widgets and Apple Watch
Open the app and save a project, then add a Simply Projects widget through your device’s widget gallery. Choose a featured project in Settings. The companion Watch app receives the latest project snapshot from its paired iPhone. If it is out of date, open the iPhone app and use Refresh from iPhone in the Watch app when both devices are available. Apple controls background delivery and widget refresh timing.
Where is my data?
Projects are saved locally and work offline. This release does not sync projects between Mac, iPhone or iPad through iCloud. A Watch snapshot comes from the paired iPhone. Device backup and restore are managed through your Apple settings.
Availability and compatibility
Simply Projects is free, with no subscriptions, purchases, ads or artificial project limits. The app supports iOS/iPadOS 17 or later, macOS 14 or later and watchOS 10 or later. Native glass controls appear on newer systems, with native fallbacks on earlier versions. App Store availability depends on Apple’s review and the current store listing.
Read the privacy policy, also available offline in the app’s Settings.
